Baltic cyanobacteria bloom traced to inland sources — new awareness campaign launched

The Race for the Baltic Foundation is launching the campaign "The Baltic Starts on Land," running from June to the end of September. It aims to show that cyanobacteria blooms and Baltic eutrophication originate inland — from sewage, leaking septic tanks and agricultural fertilisers washing into rivers. The campaign will run in urban spaces, digital media and a dedicated educational platform.
