James Webb Telescope captures infant stars of FS Tau erupting in cosmic fireworks

NASA released a stunning James Webb Space Telescope image of the FS Tau star system's protostars to celebrate the 250th anniversary of American independence. The infant stars appear to shoot jets of material into space, resembling cosmic fireworks. Protostars form from clumps in molecular clouds and only become true main-sequence stars once they accumulate enough mass to ignite hydrogen fusion in their cores.
