UN warns of human rights catastrophe unfolding around Sudan's al-Obeid

The UN human rights chief warned on Friday that another human rights catastrophe is unfolding around the besieged Sudanese city of al-Obeid, capital of North Kordofan state. Fighting between Sudan's army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has been ongoing for over three years. The UN urged the international community to act urgently in the face of a recurring pattern of atrocities.
