On 4 July, Catholic priests can choose a Mass for St Elizabeth or the Virgin Mary

July 4 features two optional memorials in the Catholic liturgical calendar: St Elizabeth of Portugal and the Blessed Virgin Mary. Priests celebrating Mass may choose one of three available sets of prayers and readings accordingly. The colour of liturgical vestments also depends on which formula is selected.
