NHS to give patients three weeks' notice of hospital appointments

NHS England is ordering hospitals to notify everyone on their treatment waiting list at least three weeks before their operation, diagnostic test or consultant appointment. The initiative is inspired by customer service practices used by online retailers such as John Lewis and Amazon.
