Over 40 Baltic Sea beaches closed due to waves, wind and algal blooms
More than 40 bathing spots along the Baltic Sea coast were closed at midday on Thursday. In the West Pomeranian voivodeship, the bans were due to high waves, strong winds and dangerous rip currents, while in the Pomeranian voivodeship, toxic cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) blooms were the cause.
