UN warns of heatwaves and droughts as El Niño intensifies

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) warns that the intensifying El Niño pattern is raising the likelihood of heatwaves, droughts and heavy rainfall globally. Experts forecast a significant increase in extreme weather events in the coming months as El Niño strengthens.
