US Congressmen Threaten Pentagon: Send 4,000 Troops to Poland or Lose Iran Funds

A group of influential US congressmen has issued an ultimatum to the Pentagon: deploy 4,000 soldiers from an armoured brigade to Poland or receive none of the $88 billion package earmarked for the war with Iran. Congressman Don Bacon told Wirtualna Polska he is "deeply outraged" by the stance of the Secretary of Defense and his deputy, whom he accuses of spreading anxiety among NATO's eastern allies. The dispute centres on the security of NATO's eastern flank.
