Polish parliament passes OKI law: investment accounts exempt from Belka tax up to 100,000 PLN

The Polish Sejm passed the Personal Investment Accounts (OKI) act on Friday. Investment assets held in such accounts will be exempt from the 19% capital gains tax (known as the Belka tax) up to 100,000 PLN, while savings assets will be exempt up to 25,000 PLN. The law aims to encourage Poles to invest long-term and now heads to the Senate.
