Danny McBride's G.I. Joe reboot greenlit by Paramount, filming next year
Danny McBride has written a G.I. Joe reboot screenplay with Jeff Fradley and John Carcieri, his collaborators from The Righteous Gemstones, and Paramount has given it a positive assessment. Filming is planned to begin next year. McBride, a lifelong G.I. Joe fan, was originally inspired by the classic animated series and comics, and initially wanted to focus on the Dreadnoks gang before the studio steered him toward a full reboot.
