Henryk Victorini, Bieszczady legend and post-war pioneer, has died

Henryk Victorini, one of the first post-war settlers in the Bieszczady mountains, has died. He arrived in the region in 1956, settled in the village of Sokole and ran a mountain shelter there. One of the bays of Lake Solińskie has long been named after him. "When I settled here, I had nothing but my youth," he once recalled.
