BlackRock, Fidelity and major institutions embrace Bitcoin after ETF launch

Institutional adoption of bitcoin accelerated sharply after spot bitcoin ETFs launched in the United States in January 2024. Asset managers including BlackRock and Fidelity now hold BTC directly or offer products built around it. The trend spans hedge funds, banks, pension funds and insurers across most categories of regulated institutions.
