Sony Repurposes PlayStation Disc Factory as Physical Media Era Ends

Sony is repurposing its disc manufacturing plant in Thalgau, Austria, which currently produces 600,000 discs per day — half of them for PlayStation. Sony DADC president Dietmar Tanzer confirmed the changes in an interview with Austria's ORF Salzburg. The move signals the end of the physical disc era for PlayStation gaming.
