KAIST spray-on powder stops life-threatening bleeding in one second by forming a gel
Researchers at South Korea's KAIST have developed a spray-on powder that stops life-threatening bleeding in approximately one second by instantly forming a strong gel over a wound. It works on deep and irregular injuries where conventional haemostatic products often fail, and remains effective after years of storage in harsh conditions. Originally designed for battlefield use, the technology could also transform emergency care in ambulances, disaster zones and hospitals.
