Scientists Create Artificial Cells That Feed, Grow and Reproduce

Researchers have engineered human-made cells that display many hallmarks of life, including feeding, growing and reproducing. However, the cells cannot yet produce all their necessary internal structures or sustain division across many generations. The breakthrough brings scientists a step closer to building life from scratch in a laboratory.
