Midjourney demands Disney and Warner Bros. reveal their AI use in copyright fight
AI image generator Midjourney is attempting to compel Disney, Universal and Warner Bros. to disclose their own internal use of artificial intelligence, as part of its defence against a major copyright lawsuit. The Hollywood studios sued Midjourney last year, alleging it enabled massive infringement of their copyrighted characters. Midjourney is arguing "fair use" and hopes to show that the studios themselves rely on AI tools.
