Vatican Excommunicates Six Ultraconservative SSPX Bishops Over Illicit Ordinations

The Vatican excommunicated six bishops from the ultraconservative Society of St Pius X (SSPX) on Thursday over unauthorised ordinations. The breakaway group rejects key tenets of the modern Catholic Church, including interreligious dialogue and ecumenism.
