Yeast or potato starch instead of fertiliser can boost petunia blooms
Petunias bloom continuously for months but need regular feeding to do so. Instead of shop-bought fertilisers, gardeners can water them with a solution of yeast or potato starch, which supplies nutrients and stimulates abundant flowering. The treatment should be repeated every few weeks throughout the summer season.
