Anthropic in talks with Samsung to manufacture custom AI chip

Anthropic is reportedly in early-stage talks with Samsung Electronics about manufacturing a custom AI chip, and has already hired chip engineers for the project. The move follows OpenAI's similar "Jalapeño" chip initiative, with major AI firms increasingly seeking to cut infrastructure costs. Anthropic stressed that Nvidia remains an important partner.
