Over 40 Baltic Sea beaches closed due to waves and toxic algae

More than 40 Baltic Sea bathing sites were closed on Thursday at noon, according to data from the Polish Chief Sanitary Inspectorate's bathing service. In the West Pomeranian region, bans were imposed due to high waves and strong rip currents, while in Pomerania closures were caused by toxic blue-green algae blooms. Swimmers are advised to check the current status of beaches before entering the water.
