Von der Leyen proposes scrapping tariffs on 80% of Armenian goods entering EU

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, visiting Yerevan on Thursday, proposed eliminating tariffs on 80% of goods imported from Armenia into the EU. She said the move would help Armenia redirect its exports amid economic coercion by Russia. The proposal marks a further step in Armenia's rapprochement with the European Union.
