District Vet in Nowy Targ Dismissed After Shelter Scandal

Krzysztof Gałązka, the district veterinary inspector in Nowy Targ, has been dismissed from his post following the closure of a local animal shelter. The shelter was shut down at its owners' request after reports of appalling conditions for the dogs kept there. The Chief Veterinary Inspectorate concluded that Gałązka had failed to take appropriate action despite the known irregularities.
