Papua separatists shoot dead American pilot Nicholas Gosselin and set his plane on fire
Separatist fighters from the West Papua National Liberation Army (TPNPB) shot dead American pilot Nicholas F. Gosselin after his civilian plane landed in the Yahukimo region of Indonesia's Highland Papua province, then set the aircraft on fire. TPNPB spokesperson Sebby Sambom described the killing as a "message" to both the US and Indonesian governments amid the region's long-running independence struggle.
