EU Scraps Duty-Free Threshold: AliExpress and Temu Purchases Now Taxed From July 2026
From 1 July 2026, the EU has eliminated the duty-free threshold for small parcels from outside the bloc, previously set at €150. Purchases on platforms such as AliExpress and Temu will now be subject to customs duties and VAT regardless of order value. The change is expected to raise prices for millions of European shoppers who rely on cheap Chinese imports.
