Slate EV adopts Chinese batteries after Trump killed domestic sourcing credits
US automaker Slate has switched to lower-cost batteries perfected in China, becoming the latest EV manufacturer to do so. The shift was driven partly by the Trump administration's repeal of EV tax credits that had incentivised domestic battery material sourcing. The move illustrates how the removal of those credits has inadvertently benefited Chinese battery technology in the American market.
