Heatwave threatens US 250th anniversary celebrations – feels like 45°C

A severe heatwave is threatening to disrupt celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of US independence. Heat index values could exceed 45°C in some areas. In New York State, 20 teenagers have already been hospitalised with heat-related symptoms, even before the peak of the heatwave arrives.
