EU top court upholds €4.1 billion Android fine against Google

The Court of Justice of the EU dismissed Google's appeal against the €4.125 billion Android antitrust fine on Thursday, handing the European Commission a landmark victory after nearly a decade. The Commission had found that Google unlawfully required smartphone makers to pre-install its Search app and Chrome browser to protect its market dominance. Google said it had already complied with earlier orders but criticised the ruling for failing to recognise its investment in keeping Android open.
