Over 75,000 queued for tickets as Bayeux Tapestry heads to the British Museum
Ticket sales for the Bayeux Tapestry exhibition at the British Museum in London have opened to extraordinary demand, with more than 75,000 people simultaneously queuing online at one point and waiting times reaching nine hours. The exhibition will mark the first time the famous 11th-century Norman tapestry has left France to be displayed in the United Kingdom.
