Amazon plans in-house chips for Kindle, Fire TV and Echo from 2027

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Amazon plans to begin phasing in its own custom chips across Kindle, Fire TV, Echo and Ring devices from 2027, moving away from third-party processors. The company is reportedly partnering with Alchip for production and aims to ship around 40 million in-house processors annually at full rollout. The shift is expected to cut costs, reduce supply-chain dependence and enable better AI integration across Amazon's device lineup.
