The Onion acquires Alex Jones' Infowars; proceeds to go to Sandy Hook families

Satirical outlet The Onion has acquired Alex Jones' Infowars following Jones' billion-dollar defamation verdict in favour of Sandy Hook victims' families. The deal means the families will indirectly receive money from the acquisition. The case stems from Jones' years of false claims that the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting, which killed 26 people including 20 children, was staged.
