Statins give obese over-40s cholesterol and blood pressure matching healthy-weight peers
A new study found that many adults over 40 with obesity have cholesterol and blood pressure levels indistinguishable from those with a healthy BMI, largely due to widespread use of statins and blood-pressure medications. In some cases, obese individuals were actually "better off" than healthy-weight counterparts on these measures.
