Doctors earn up to 2,000 PLN per hour as hospitals compete for specialists
Polish hospitals are competing increasingly fiercely for medical specialists, pushing hourly rates up to 2,000 PLN, according to Marta Nowacka, head of the District Hospitals Association of Silesia. The high pay is a result of a systemic shortage of medical staff in Poland. The paradox is that public institutions overpay for doctors while themselves facing serious financial difficulties.
