Over 1,000 heat deaths in Spain in June 2025 — worst toll since 2015

More than 1,000 people died in Spain during the June heatwave, according to the country's health ministry. This is the highest death toll since 2015. June 2025 was also the second hottest June ever recorded in Spain.
