Expert warns heatwaves could cost Polish economy 124 billion złoty a year by 2050

Prof. Mariusz Figurski has warned that record temperatures in Poland are exposing the country's critical infrastructure as wholly unprepared for prolonged heatwaves. Without rapid adaptation, the financial cost to the Polish economy could reach 124 billion złoty per year by 2050, he estimates. The expert states plainly that "Poland is not ready" for the new climate reality.
