Heatwaves expose Poland's infrastructure weakness — inaction could cost 124bn PLN a year

Prof. Mariusz Figurski of the National Institute of Telecommunications and Gdańsk University of Technology warns that failing to adapt to climate change could cost Poland up to 124 billion PLN per year by 2050. Record temperatures are exposing weaknesses in the country's critical infrastructure. He stresses the urgent need to invest in adapting energy, transport and water networks to extreme weather conditions.
