Sony to stop making game discs from January 2028

Sony has announced it will stop manufacturing discs for new PlayStation games starting January 2028. Cody Spencer, co-owner of retail chain Pink Gorilla Games, called the move "only a negative for gamers," saying it eliminates the ability to own physical copies. The decision signals a major shift toward fully digital game distribution for PlayStation.
