Skylab Backup Spacecraft Back on Public Display at Smithsonian After Eight Years

A backup version of Skylab, America's first space station, is once again on public display at the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C., for the first time in eight years following a building renovation. The original Skylab orbited Earth from 1973 to 1974, demonstrating that humans could live and work in space for extended periods. The artifact is now showcased in a newly renovated gallery.
