The First Bank of the United States in Philadelphia, once a controversial proposal by Alexander Hamilton, has reopened to the public as a museum following a $43 million renovation. Founded in 1791, the bank was instrumental in stabilising the young American economy. The landmark had been closed to visitors for several years before the makeover.
