EU scraps duty-free threshold for Chinese parcels — all packages to cost more from 2026

From 1 July 2026, the European Union will abolish the duty-free exemption for low-value parcels from outside the EU, directly targeting platforms like Temu, AliExpress and Shein. Previously, packages worth under €150 entered the EU without customs duties, giving Chinese retailers a major price advantage. Under the new rules, every parcel from China will be subject to customs fees and taxes. European consumers can expect noticeably higher prices on Chinese shopping platforms.
