Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" returns to cinemas on 10 September in 4K

Lionsgate and Fathom Entertainment will release a restored version of Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" in cinemas from September 10 to 17, 2026, in 4K and Dolby Atmos. The screenings will include a short preview of the upcoming sequel "The Resurrection of the Christ, Part 1", due in cinemas in May next year. Lionsgate's head of global distribution Kevin Grayson called it "one of the most extraordinary cinematic experiences of all time."
