Project Hail Mary arrives on Prime Video this Friday

2026 has already been a bountiful year for sci-fi fans, who have been treated to one of the biggest new releases in years in Project Hail Mary . The film, which is based on the novel of the same name by Andy Weir , grossed over $600 million at the box office before being added to MGM+ a few weeks ago. Amazon announced this afternoon that it’s coming to Prime Video this Friday. Over on Netflix , the streamer released one of its most successful movies of all time in War Machine (starring Alan Ritchson ), which has officially cracked the all-time top 10 after earning over 130 million views. The same can’t be said for the Netflix sci-fi TV show, The Boroughs , which was canceled after only one season after failing to generate the viewership it needed to be renewed.
