Notch Slams ESA for Calling Minecraft Private Servers "Illegal"

Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson has condemned the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) after its VP Jennifer Gibbons claimed private Minecraft servers are "illegal" and a form of piracy. The controversy arose during a California Senate hearing on the Protect Our Games Act, which would require publishers to keep games playable after server shutdowns. Notch called the ESA's stance "borderline evil," arguing private servers are a legitimate solution to game preservation.
