"The Passion of the Christ" gets September theatrical re-release ahead of 2027 sequel

Mel Gibson's 2004 biblical drama "The Passion of the Christ" will return to cinemas in September 2026. The re-release is timed ahead of the sequel, "The Resurrection of the Christ: Part One," which is scheduled to hit theaters in May 2027.
