Ecological disaster at Lake Pilchowickie – mass fish die-off after water release
A mass fish die-off occurred at Lake Pilchowickie and on the Bóbr River after water was released from the reservoir. Two crisis management teams were convened – the Regional Crisis Management Team and the District team in Lwówek Śląski. Local anglers organised a grassroots rescue operation to catch surviving fish and raised the alarm about the scale of the ecological damage.
