Mayor of Niedźwiada loses post after drunk-driving conviction
The mayor of Niedźwiada commune has been convicted of drink-driving in a final ruling and will lose his post. When stopped by police, he claimed he was driving to fetch oxygen for fish. The judge stated that public officials who break the law forfeit both their privileges and their positions.
