Same-sex couple married abroad denied Polish tax reliefs — one partner is seriously ill

In Poland's first tax ruling on same-sex couples married abroad, the tax authority determined that Bartek and Franek, wed overseas, are not entitled to the tax reliefs and exemptions available to married couples in Poland. One of the men is seriously ill and in need of basic financial protection. The couple responded by saying: "Poland has shown us the middle finger again."
