Alstom's Görlitz plant switches to armoured vehicle production under KNDS
The KNDS consortium acquired Alstom's plant in Görlitz in 2025 and is converting it to defence production. The factory, formerly producing trams, is now set to manufacture armoured personnel carriers. The shift is part of Europe's broader ramp-up of defence industrial capacity near the Polish-German border.
