Polish doctors get pay rises today — hospitals don't know how to fund them

From Wednesday, medical staff employed in Poland's public healthcare system are entitled to higher salaries, but hospital directors warn they have received no guidance on how to fund the rises. The Ministry of Health has yet to identify a source of additional money. The situation raises serious concerns about the day-to-day operation of public hospitals.
