Jamir Nazir, accused of using AI, wins Commonwealth Short Story Prize

Jamir Nazir, one of three finalists for the Commonwealth Short Story Prize accused of using AI to write their entries, has won the overall prize. The Commonwealth Foundation cleared Nazir and his fellow finalists after a month-long investigation that did not use AI-detection software. Granta Magazine, which had published the winning stories for over a decade, ended its partnership with the prize over "editorial integrity" concerns.
