Sweden to deliver 16 Gripen E jets to Ukraine as first post-war air force

Saab has signed a contract with the Swedish procurement agency FMV for 16 Gripen E multirole fighter jets destined for Ukraine. The aircraft are intended to form the backbone of a new Ukrainian air force capable of deterring Russia after the war. Analysts describe the fleet as a post-war or inter-war generation of military aviation.
